The Heredity

Heredity, often referred to as “nature” is the biological transmission of genetic characteristics from parents to offspring. It refers to the sum total of characteristics biological transmitted through the parents to offspring and directly determining physical constitution and traits. It is what, which is inherent in the child and is often termed original nature. It is nature’s way of passing on to children the actual and potential characteristics of parents. It is the relationship between generation and generation. It sees for everyone a general pattern of possible development. It consists of the transmission to and reproduction in the child of ancestral traits, it actual and potential.

These traits and characteristics include bodily structure, skin color, and nervous system capable of certain ranges, capacity and intensity of response, the basic rates and patterns of growth, which are fixed for everyone. In short heredity provides the biological predispositions. To state it another way, at this point of conception a remarkable number of personal characteristics is already determined by the generic structures of the fertilized ovum. Our genes program our growing cells so what we develop into a person rather than a fish, a bird, or a monkey.
